Diversity & Inclusion

Created to support the HLNY mission of promoting Diversity within the healthcare profession, the committee is charged with conducting an annual self-assessment of the chapter’s diversity and inclusion practices and proposing new practices and programs. The committee consists of the Member at large for all territories, and members representing ACHE affiliated groups as determined by the HLNY Board (e.g, NAHSE, WHMA, and AHHE). Responsibilities include:

Design analytics and strategy to paint a picture of the future of HLNY. Explore and identify new opportunities for the organization to meet strategic goals and objectives. Collaborate with Membership & Sponsorship Committee to shape decisions, innovate, and improve the HLNY member experience. Analyze web and mobile elements to develop new, effective means for people to stay connected to HLNY. Analyze event attendance and the latest trends to develop a model with the purpose of understanding fluctuations and improve attendance

Higher Education Network

The Higher Education Network (HEN) committee is dedicated to raising awareness of the resources provided by the HLNY chapter to students in order to create valuable connections in the beginning stages of their careers. As a member of this committee, we collaborate with afflicted HEN universities and become the liaisons for the programs and their students on behalf of HLNY. Being responsive and attentive to the needs of the programs and their students is our priority. We view our student members as vital contributors to the future of the healthcare field and are very interested in engaging and educating them on the industry and in our offerings.

Responsibilities include:

  • Connecting directly with students to raise HLNY awareness
  • Promoting HLNY resources at afflicted HEN universities
  • Keeping Program Directors and Faculty aware of HLNY resources
  • Providing administrative and program support to all HEN universities
