Chapter Vice President

The Chapter Vice President serves as a key member of HLNY’s executive leadership team, supporting the Chapter President and President-Elect while advancing strategic initiatives that strengthen member engagement, sponsorship relationships, and organizational success. The Vice President works across committees and Board leadership to promote collaboration, develop volunteer leaders, and help ensure the chapter delivers exceptional value to its members and partners.

In accordance with the chapter bylaws, the Vice President assumes the office of President-Elect should that position become vacant, helping ensure continuity of leadership.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chapter President and President-Elect in advancing the chapter’s strategic priorities and organizational initiatives.
• Foster member engagement by encouraging volunteer participation and supporting leadership development across the chapter.
• Partner with the Sponsorship Committee and Board Members-at-Large to strengthen sponsor relationships and help fulfill organizational commitments to partners.
• Promote engagement and participation of Board Members-at-Large in chapter activities, initiatives, and governance.
• Support committee collaboration and provide assistance during committee chair meetings, as appropriate.
• Organize and promote community service and outreach activities that advance HLNY’s mission.
• Serve as a voting member of the Board of Directors and provide leadership to assigned committees.
• Support membership growth, fundraising efforts, and chapter development.
• Ensure a smooth leadership transition by preparing and onboarding the incoming Vice President.

Qualifications

• Previous HLNY elected Board service of at least one year with demonstrated commitment to the chapter. Prior ACHE chapter board experience may be considered, when applicable. Candidates without prior Board service should have significant chapter leadership experience, such as serving as a Committee Chair for two years.
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
• Member in good standing with HLNY for at least one year.

Term of Office

• One-year term.

Time Commitment

• Approximately 15 hours per month.
• Attend the ACHE Chapter Leaders Conference and, when possible, the ACHE Congress on Healthcare Leadership.
• Regular attendance at Executive Board and Board of Directors meetings.
• Active participation in the chapter’s signature programs and events, including the Annual Gala & Awards Ceremony, Better Together, Mini-Congress, Cocktails with the Chiefs, Past Presidents Boat Cruise, Holiday Party, and other key chapter activities.

Provide ongoing leadership and support to assigned committees and chapter initiatives throughout the year.
