Managing inpatient capacity is one of the
most critical challenges for health systems. It
requires a daily balancing act of coordinating
bed availability, patient throughput, and
staffing needs in unison to ensure optimal
patient care and collaboration across care
teams to ensure timely discharges and make
room for new patient admissions.

What is Executive Presence?
Executive presence is a crucial aspect of career advancement, as it reflects a leader's ability to communicate effectively, inspire confidence, and project a professional image. Having a strong executive presence can make all the difference in landing a high-level position, forging important connections, and inspiring others to follow your lead.
What is a Career Action Plan?
A career action plan is a roadmap for advancing your career. The most important part of your
plan should be to keep track of your professional accomplishments. This record of your work success is essential for many reasons including your performance reviews, asking for a raise, updating your resume, speaking about the work you do, and for personal validation. Consider it accumulating key data that you can deploy when you encounter an unfavorable review, when you ask for a raise, or when you are looking for a new job. It is easy to let your accomplishments get lost in the day-to-day grind. Most people check things off their to-do list and then move on to the next item. Months can go by like this making it feel like nothing important has been accomplished. If instead, you actively keep track of your successes, you will see that you have achieved more than you thought.
OR Administrators struggle with efficient use of OR time. They are challenged with balancing revenue and utilization targets with surgeon and staff preferences against a backdrop of often unpredictable supply and demand. The way in which blocks of OR time are allocated, taken away, and released into open time leaves a great deal of room for optimization. iQueue creates a credible, fair and transparent system for managing block and open time while maximizing staff, equipment and capital utilization.

“Your brand is what people say about you when you’re not in the room,” Amazon’s Jeff Bezos has said. Every executive has a brand, and building and evolving one’s brand is critical to finding leadership career success. A brand is often what gets you in the door for leadership opportunities and sticks with hiring managers as they make their final decisions. This 60-minute webinar offers practical advice to those who wish to strategically build their own brands, revive them when they’ve been damaged, and evolve them over time as you achieve higher levels of authority.

Executive careers today take different routes and rarely move directly up the organizational ladder. In larger, matrixed mega-systems, a lattice-style career progression is more likely, as an executive will take diagonal and even sideways moves to get to their eventual career destination. How do you plan for a more non-linear career path, and what types of competencies and experiences should you strive to get out of each assignment? How do you sell your circuitous route to people who would hire you for advanced leadership roles?

Management of populations of patients through integrated post-acute care models cannot be done by a simple referral. As our populations change, so must the delivery of healthcare services along the care continuum. acute care hospitals are faced with ever more regulatory requirements and expanding financial penalties all to elevate the standard of care across the healthcare system on a national scale. The regulatory requirements and the corresponding financial penalties are not new phenomena. Most hospitals aggressively develop performance improvement plans that center on the resolution of these deficits for minimization of potential financial exposure. Driving forces are pushing acute care hospitals to work collaboratively with members of the post-acute care continuum to cohesively manage patient populations through increasingly more aspects of a patient’s post-acute care progression. As a result, these post-acute facilities will continue to play an even greater role in supporting our acute care hospitals in the management of patient populations through the continuum of care.

In today’s competitive marketplace, significant capital expenditure decisions can make or break a healthcare organization and the career of the executive(s) tasked with such decisions. No capital decision may be greater than the construction of a new facility or the substantial renovation of an existing one. After years of relative dormancy, the healthcare construction boom continues throughout the U.S. for a variety of reasons, many of which impact both small community hospitals and large urban health systems alike. The most common reasons for the renovations, expansions, and replacements include aging facilities, population growth, market demand, and the need to improve operational efficiencies. Additionally, competition moves organizations to incorporate the latest advances in care delivery, medical technology, new building codes and healing design elements to enhance the patient’s experience through the surrounding environment. Changes in building codes and patient safety standards also drive the need for construction and modification.
