The NJ Chapter of ACHE takes pride in offering relevant educational programs for Face to Face Credits to help all members, Fellows, and to-be Fellows. The NJ Chapter of ACHE invites you to their exciting dual panel program on May 7th: Equity of Care and Fostering Inclusion of LGBTQ Patients.
Program Description
PANEL 1: EQUITY OF CARE
Quality of care should not vary on the basis of the patients’ socioeconomic, ethnic, gender, or geographic background. It is known however, that there is a healthcare divide in the U.S. especially in vulnerable populations including: those lacking health insurance, low-income families, racial and ethnic minorities, and LGBT populations. Eliminating healthcare disparities provides a strategic component to ensure organizational excellence and long-term financial viability.
Panel 2: FOSTERING INCLUSION OF THE LGBT PATIENT
Fostering inclusion of Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) patient and the healthcare worker will discuss the many challenges in accessing knowledgeable, unbiased, and welcoming healthcare in all practice settings. The potential and/or fear of receiving derogatory remarks, unequitable care, or being turned away from treatment often deters some of the LGBT community and their families from seeking healthcare services.
Join us for an engaging discussion and sharing ideas on the need to strengthen the pursuance of equity of care and to foster inclusion of LGBT patients.
