June 19 marks the annual Juneteenth celebration that commemorates the end of the legal enslavement of Black Americans. On June 17th, 2021 U.S. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris signed a bill into law to make Juneteenth an official federal holiday. Celebrating the end of slavery in 1865 should not just occur for one day. It includes ongoing education to yourself and others around you.
