Moderator:

Gayle Capozzalo is executive director of The Equity Collaborative, which is part of the Carol Emmott Foundation and focused on gender equity in healthcare leadership and governance. She is also president/CEO of JGF Strategies LLC, providing strategy guidance to healthcare organizations. She retired in July 2018 as the executive vice president/chief strategy officer of Yale New Haven Health System. She joined the system in 1997 and was primarily responsible for system strategy development and execution, marketing, community and government relations, innovation, business development, and mergers and acquisitions. Ms. Capozzalo received her Master of Science degree in public health from the University of Missouri–Columbia and completed two years of post-master’s degree work in healthcare marketing and organizational development at St. Louis University. She has more than 35 years of experience in system strategy, integration, and management in the industry. Ms. Capozzalo is a Past Chairman of the ACHE Board of Governors. She recently was presented the Gold Medal Award by ACHE. Currently, Ms. Capozzalo serves on the board of Universal Health Realty Income Trust as a member of its audit, nominating/governance committees and chair of its compensation committee. She also serves on the board of .406 Venture Healthcare Executive Council in Boston and is the senior strategy adviser to PhysicianOne Urgent Care, the largest, private equity urgent care company in Connecticut. Ms. Capozzalo is active in her community and the healthcare industry. She is immediate past chair of Planned Parenthood of Southern New England and serves on its finance and audit, investment, strategy, and executive committees. She also serves as board chair of a Clinically Integrated Network of 19 Planned Parenthood affiliates. Ms. Capozzalo is board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow.

Grace C. Bonilla, Esq. is a distinguished leader with extensive experience in the nonprofit and public sectors. She has served as the President and CEO of United Way of New York City (UWNYC) since July 2022. In her role, Grace is dedicated to advancing the organization’s mission to support the diverse communities of New York City, actively working to ensure that low-income and underinsured New Yorkers have access to preventative healthcare, educational resources, and community support. Prior to her role at UWNYC, Grace held leadership positions across the nonprofit sector, including Senior Vice President for Latin America at Covenant House International (CHI), where she addressed the root causes of child homelessness across multiple countries. Grace’s impressive career also includes serving as the Executive Director of New York City’s first Task Force on Racial Equity and Inclusion, appointed by Mayor Bill de Blasio during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. She made significant contributions to New York City’s social services landscape as the Administrator of the Human Resources Administration (HRA). Grace has garnered prestigious awards and honors, including induction into the City Limits Hall of Fame in 2023, being named in the City and State Power 100 2023, receiving the City and State 2023 Above & Beyond: Women award and delivering the keynote address at this year’s Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce Annual Not-For-Profit Summit. She is a lifelong New Yorker, holding a JD from Brooklyn Law School, and remains deeply committed to shaping policies that address the challenges to achieving economic justice and equity for all New Yorkers.
Ms. Jordan-Martin provides leadership and oversight of the Community Care Division of NYC Health + Hospitals, including a certified home health agency and community-based care management programs. She also leads the New York City Test & Trace Corps’ COVID-19 Take Care Hotel Program inclusive of free hotel rooms, clinical monitoring and support, testing and vaccination, for residents and visitors of New York City who require isolation or quarantine. Ms. Jordan-Martin also served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Program Officer at Community Care. Ms. Jordan-Martin has held several healthcare delivery system transformation roles nationally and internationally. As Senior Assistant Vice President, Executive Director for Implementation, and Hub Executive Director at NYC Health + Hospitals / OneCity Health, she served as the lead representative with accountability for the successful design, implementation, and operations of several projects for the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) Program. Prior to this, as a Senior Director at Montefiore Health System, she led the design, implementation, and monitoring of Montefiore’s Bronx Accountable Healthcare Network Health Home program in coordination with Montefiore Pioneer Accountable Care Organization. She served as Project / Country Director for the Francois-Xavier Bagnoud Center at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey where she led the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of a 5-year infrastructural project in Guyana, South America under the auspices of the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, that focused on expanding HIV care, treatment and support services including laboratory infrastructure, counseling and testing, antiretroviral treatment and workforce development. She has also consulted for the World Health Organization on a regional approach to scaling up the prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV and pediatric HIV care and treatment in Sub-Saharan Africa. Ms. Jordan-Martin has also held several health plan roles in provider relations, hospital and physician contracting, and disease management and health promotion vendor contracting and management. Ms. Jordan-Martin received an MPA in Public Health Administration from Long Island University and a BS in Health Services Administration from St. Joseph’s College where she also earned certificates in Healthcare management and Home Care Administration. She is currently a doctoral student at The George Washington University
Gabrielle Mitchell is currently serving Northwell as Deputy Regional HR Officer for the Western Region which includes Staten Island University, Prince’s Bay, Lenox Hill, Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat, Lenox Hill Greenwich Village, Northern Westchester and Phelps Hospitals as well as over 200 ambulatory locations. Gabrielle is the Associate Executive Director of Human Resources for he Manhattan Campus where she leads the human resources function for the including – partnering with unions and senior leadership to enhance the team member experience.
Gabrielle returns to Northwell after four years as Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer’s Global Head of Human Resources – Global Transactions Practices and Chief Human Resources Officer – US. In this role, Gabrielle successfully led the U.S. culture and human capital function, including strategic planning and development, talent acquisitions, total rewards, team member development, and equity, diversity and inclusion.
Prior to Freshfields, Gabrielle served as Northwell’s Deputy Regional HR Officer for the Ambulators Region from 2014-2018. Gabrielle has over two decades of experience leading organizations within the Healthcare and Legal industries. She holds a Master of Science degree in Human Resources: Labor, Law and Policy from Albany Law School, a Master of Arts degree from the City University of New York at Queens and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York at Albany.
