Get an inside look at the issues impacting the health care industry with EisnerAmper’s Health Care Services Group. This forum, now in its 17th year of presentation to the health care marketplace (and 5th consecutive year exclusively for HLNY members), provides health care providers, office staff and outside health care professionals with the latest information on the issues impacting the health care industry. Participants will be able to both learn and discuss the latest developments of health care reform, including the most recent changes to be implemented as part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Additionally, participants will both learn and be able to discuss the key federal and state health care regulatory changes to be implemented in 2017. Finally, EisnerAmper’s certified coders will discuss the coding changes to be implemented in 2017, and provide an overview of ICD-10 planning needs.

Luke Hermann
Luke Hermann, MD is a Vice President in the Mount Sinai Health System where he is responsible for hospital utilization and mid revenue cycle oversight and optimization. By leveraging home grown analytic and reporting tools to identify specific opportunity targets, his group has helped individual campuses to significantly improve clinical revenue capture as well as performance on various reported quality metrics.

Michael McLafferty
Michael J. McLafferty is a leader in the Health Care Services Group. He has over 20 years of experience in the health care field, providing business services to multihospital systems, pharmaceutical firms, surgery centers and physician practices. Michael has assisted numerous health care organizations with turnaround services; mergers and acquisitions; evaluation and improvement of operations; revenue enhancement; chart and coding evaluations; revenue enhancement strategies and implementation; contract negotiations; regulatory and compliance issues; and health care litigation. In addition, he has developed business plans and financial forecasts, provided interim management services, performed operational and financial assessments and benchmarking analysis for numerous health care organizations. Michael has extensive relationships within the health care field and is often requested as a speaker before professional organizations.
Melissa Pizor
Melissa Pizor is a Senior Consultant in the Health Care Services Group. Her expertise focuses on coding and documentation, which includes chart review and report compilation. She also has extensive experience working with physicians and insurance carriers. She is certified in ICD-10 regulations and guidelines.
Melissa has nearly 10 years of experience in health care and business management, working in reimbursement, billing and coding. Prior to joining the firm, she was a Manager of medical coding and billing for a series of medical facilities. Melissa is currently working towards earning the Certified Risk Adjustment Coder credential.
Steven Bisciello
Steven Bisciello is a Senior Manager in the Health Care Services Group. He has nearly 15 years of experience in the health care industry, providing, but not limited to, physician group and hospital operations services and hospital billing and collection services at both the Inpatient and Outpatient levels.
Steven works with clients on billing and collection assessments, revenue enhancement programs, health care litigation, compliance and practice management. His working knowledge of insurance practices, billing procedures and proper collection for Managed Care, Medicaid/Medicare and Third Party Billing are invaluable when providing revenue cycle services to hospital, surgery center and physician practice clients. In various roles, Steven has supervised Patient Accounts, Facilities Management and Outpatient clinic areas, while employed at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. In addition, he performed consulting services at New York University Hospital. Steven has presented to professional organizations on regulatory and coding updates.
Nancy Clark
Nancy Clark is a Manager in the Health Care Services Group. Her expertise focuses on coding and documentation audits, which includes chart review and report compilation. She also serves as an expert, and interprets and reports data for health care litigation clients. Nancy has over 20 years of experience, which includes health care consulting, medical coding and billing, accounting and business management. Prior to joining the firm, she served as Director of a health care business resource company. Nancy has served as an officer on the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) National Advisory Board. She is also a certified instructor who has taught medical coding and billing to students in preparation for the AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) examination. She previously served as President, Treasurer and Member Development Officer of the AAPC Monmouth New Jersey Chapter. In addition to her active involvement in the AAPC, Nancy is a coordinator of the New Jersey Medical Coding and Billing Conference, and a member of the Novitas Medicare Provider Outreach and Education Advisory Group. She is also a member of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) and Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). She is a frequent presenter at national seminars and a contributing author to health care publications.
