We are offering two unique scholarship opportunities that will provide financial relief and mentorship experience to our students. The application deadline is April 16th, 2021 and any questions for either scholarship can be directed to hen@hlny.org. Thank you for your interest!

HLNY Achievement Award of Distinction
Each year, a $1500 stipend is awarded to one or more graduate students who have demonstrated academic excellence, community service, and a desire to become future healthcare leaders. Applicants must be enrolled in schools that have an approved Higher Education Network Agreement with the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). At the time of application, the student shall be declared a graduate student in an allied healthcare administration degree program and must have a minimum grade point average of 3.5. Additionally, applicants must submit an essay describing his or her specific career goals and vision of the future. The essay must indicate contributions to the promotion and protection of the health of individuals, families, and communities; and/or demonstrate the ability to transfer theoretical ideas and knowledge into practical application.

Leonard Achan Sr. Health Equity Scholarship
Each year, a $1500 stipend is awarded to up to four graduate students with diverse backgrounds exemplifying a commitment to the betterment of the healthcare ecosystem, with the hope of one day “paying it forward.” Scholarship recipients will be assigned mentors for their last graduate year or first year after graduating from their programs through our vast network of healthcare leaders. Candidates must be scheduled to graduate from an allied healthcare administration degree program within the next 2 years, show dedicated community service work to underprivileged communities with a recommendation/letter of support attesting to this work, and an essay outlining the candidate’s current or aspiring commitment to the betterment of the healthcare equity landscape.
