For our second WHM spotlight, Healthcare Leaders of New York is delighted to recognize Melinda Kaplan! We asked Melinda, “Who or what has inspired her most in her career?”, and she stated:

“I am inspired by, and try to lead with, authentic leadership. As women leaders, we often face stereotypes about how we should lead, with many preconceived notions of how women are as leaders. Leading with an authentic leadership style enables me and other women to break down these molds by demonstrating that diverse leadership styles are equally, and in many ways, more compelling. By utilizing an authentic leadership style, I hope to invoke trust and credibility in my role, which can empower other women in the field, and further breakdown stereotypes of women leaders.”
